This tour takes you on a visit of the Melleh of Marrakech Jewish quarter, the Synagogue Salat Lazama built in 1492, and the Miara Jewish cemetery. The Lazama Synagogue, which was built by Jews fleeing Spain in 1492, is a beautiful example of the rich history of Moroccan Jews in Marrakech. The synagogue includes an interior courtyard — a popular Moroccan architectural design — and displays photographs and artifacts of Jewish life in Morocco. The Miara cemetery also dates back six hundred years, and it has tombstone from the 15th century when many Sephardic Jews relocated to Morocco from Andalusia.
After this we will visit the Bahia Palace. The Bahia Palace was built in the late 19th century, intended to be the greatest palace of its time.
The tour continue to the beautiful Bahia Palace, this is a must-see location that features the finest Moorish architecture. It is one of the best authentic Moroccan riads with it's salons of both Petit Riad and Grand Riad that highlights beautiful Moroccan craftsmanship . And Grand Cour with its 1500 sq m floor of Italian Carrara marble that highlights beautiful Moroccan craftsmanship .
During the tour, we'll walk through the hidden gems in the Medina. We walk through the maze-like and alleys of the Souks of artisans : leather work ,blacksmiths ,fabrics ,carpets... We visit a traditional herbalist, where you can shop for argan oil, herbs and spices.
